Triumph wins first world championship title three years after motocross debut
Triumph has made history by winning its first-ever FIM world championship in the MX2 class, after winning 11 out of 19 Grand Prix in 2026.
Launched just three years ago, Triumph’s TF 250-X has made history for the Hinckley-based manufacturer after Guillem Farres led Triumph to its first-ever FIM World Championship win.
Winning the MX2 title is a significant moment for the British company, which launched its motocross project just three years ago.
Farres and team-mate Camden McLellan combined to win 11 out of 19 Grand Prix victories in 2026, resulting in a 1-2 finish in the championship.
This also means that Triumph, along with the riders title, also won the FIM MX2 Motocross Manufacturers World Championship for the first time.
As part of their impressive number of Grand Prix wins, Farres and McLellan also combined to achieve 21 moto wins and 26 podium finishes, including eight double podiums and four 1-2 finishes aboard the £7,995 TF 250-X.
While the world championship win is a first for Triumph on both the world stage and in motocross, it is also the first time that a British manufacturer has won a motocross title since 1965.
Nick Bloor, Chief Executive Officer, Triumph Motorcycles said this about the company’s major achievement:

Triumph’s TF 250-X was developed alongside the company’s motocross project in collaboration with off-road racing legends Ricky Carmichael and Ivan Cervantes.
The TF 250-X delivers a maximum power of around 46 bhp at 13,750rpm, features KYB suspension, Brembo brakes, Pro Taper handlebars, and an electronics suite that includes launch control, traction control, dual engine maps, and a quickshifter.
