Triumph TF 250-X receives improved power delivery as part of big update
Triumph has announced an extensive list of updates for its TF 250-X, including ‘race-ready’ power delivery, improved throttle response and updated suspension settings.

Triumph’s TF 250-X model has received a raft of new updates, adding further value to the already impressive small-capacity motocross machine.
Developed to meet the new FIM and AMA race sound regulations, the TF 250-X has been given an all-new airbox and silencer. Triumph claims these updates together with the new engine calibration should give the TF 250-X improved ‘race day’ performance.
One of the big changes for the TF 250-X is its enhanced ECU mapping which it claims has improved power delivery and throttle response across the entire RPM range.

That should result in quicker start-line launches and sharper corner exits, while the new Exedy clutch is expected to provide more direct engagement and more torque capacity.
The bike’s suspension has been re-tuned in order to provide better mid-stroke control, greater chassis balance, and improved stability in the corners.
Not just in the business of making its machine more powerful, Triumph has attempted to make its TF 250-X more reliable and easier to service as part of its update. The layout of the battery tray has been updated to try and improve accessibility, and the Oil Level Sight Glass has been redesigned to better clarity and accuracy.

To complete the updates, there are now brand-new graphics for 2026, with Triumph offering a Performance Yellow that gives it a more racy and aggressive look.
The extensive list of updates follow on from the TF 250-X’s grand reveal in 2023, when it was developed in collaboration with motocross legend Ricky Carmichael and World Enduro Champion Ivan Cervantes.
The four stroke single-cylinder engine delivers 47.3bhp at 13,500 rpm, while the TF 250-X’s power unit also features diamond-like carbon low friction coatings and lightweight magnesium covers.

The suspension is completed by KYB with 48mm AOS coil forks, forged and machined 7075-T6 aluminium triple clamps and a three-way piggyback coil rear shock.
For braking, Galfer provides a 260mm front disc and a 220mm disc for the rear, while Brembo calipers are found at both ends. Pro-Taper ACF carbon core bars and ODI grips are also included in the specification.
Triumph Motorcycles’ chief product officer, Steve Sargent, said: “The TF 250-X has already made a huge impact in the motocross world, delivering podium-finish performances in the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship, as well as the MX2 class in MXGP. This TF 250-X, built for 2026, is the result of relentless development and feedback from our factory riders. With sharper power delivery, refined suspension, and advanced electronics, it’s built to give riders the edge they need to win.
“These updates will help all riders to make the most of the available torque, improving the feel, acceleration and response, so it is even more competitive. The new Exedy clutch and enhanced engine calibration will be compelling reasons for fans to try the Triumph ready for the upcoming season.”
