Tommy Bridewell secures WorldSBK future with new Superbike Advocates deal
Tommy Bridewell will continue in WorldSBK next season after agreeing to a new deal with the Superbike Advocates team.
Tommy Bridewell has signed a contract extension with the Superbike Advocates team for the 2027 WorldSBK season.
The former British Superbike champion will remain with the team after making a late switch to the series before the 2026 campaign begun.
Bridewell will also continue to ride a Ducati Panigale V4 R, which has cemented itself as the motorcycle to beat this year.
Ducati machinery has won every race so far in 2026, with future MotoGP rider Nicolo Bulega winning 26 out of the first 27 races.
Bridewell was initially expected to compete in BSB before announcing his late switch to WorldSBK, and while the first few races proved challenging after he missed the season-opener at Phillip Island, the 38-year-old has finished inside the top 10 in eight of his last 15 races.
Speaking after signing his new deal, Bridewell said:
“I want to thank Lee [Khouri] and the team for this amazing opportunity. I think we've had a fantastic debut season in WorldSBK and I'm really looking forward to building on this year’s success in 2027. To have the opportunity to continue and to keep growing with such a great team is a dream come true and carrying that continuity into 2027 will be key, I think.
“There are a few changes on the horizon in WorldSBK in terms of tyres and things, so there’s that to consider, but the whole team has its sights set on the same goal: to do the very best we can. So, exciting times ahead for sure! The first goal is of course to round out the 2026 season as strong as we can. Then I think we’ll have maybe one day off after we cross the line at Jerez before work begins in preparation for 2027 – I can't wait to get going.”
WorldSBK is switching from Pirelli rubber to Michelins in 2027, and with Ducati still expected to be the favourite, it will likely give Bridewell a good chance of becoming a bigger threat for major results.
Another major advantage heading into next season for the British rider will be familiarity with the championship’s different race tracks, many of which were new to him in 2026.
