Around 30,000 riders reportedly saddled up for this year’s Dave Day which took place over the weekend in celebration of the late Dave Myers.

The star of Hairy Bikers, alongside good friend Si King, passed away aged 66 after losing his battle with cancer in 2023.

The former BBC television personality combined with King to produce over 30 cooking and travel shows, and following his death, the inaugural ‘Dave Day’ was held in 2024 which saw more than 45 thousand people attend.

Last year’s initiative raised £127,000 for the NSPCC and the Institute of Cancer Research. For this year’s event the NSPCC Childline and CancerCare North Lancashire and South Cumbria were chosen as the benefiting charities, but although attendance numbers weren’t as high in 2025, the event was still well received.

Starting at London’s Ace Cafe on Saturday, the ride began with King and Myers’ widow leading off the parade which also saw supporters gather at different locations to wave flags, signs and show their support through clothing.

The event saw riders on the roads for close to 300 miles, while other activities were scheduled as part of the celebration.

Live music was played on Saturday night as part of the festival, which also played host to a charity auction where a special one-off Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, custom-made with artwork inspired by Myers, reportedly sold for £11,520.

Myers and King began their on-air partnership in 2006 but had first met while shooting scenes for a TV drama that was set in the 1990s. The pair were best known for their exploits as celebrity chefs and motorcycle travelling.
