Tarran Mackenzie gets WorldSBK call up in place of Scott Redding
After parting ways with Petronas MIE Honda earlier this season, Tarran Mackenzie has been called up to replace Scott Redding at this weekend’s Hungarian WorldSBK round.

Tarran Mackenzie has landed himself a deal to ride arguably the best bike on the WorldSBK grid, as he replaces Ducati rider Scott Redding in Hungary this weekend.
Redding had been riding a Panigale V4 R for the MGM Bonovo team in 2025, before the two sides parted ways a few days ago. That left a vacant seat which has now been filled by Mackenzie, who also split from the team he began the 2025 campaign with.
Mackenzie began the season on Honda machinery as part of the Petronas MIE Honda team. But despite his best season to date in WorldSBK, the team and Mackenzie mutually agreed to terminate the contract that was in place.
Mackenzie replaces Redding, who has since rejoined British Superbikes as a replacement for the injured Glenn Irwin at PBM Ducati. Redding will ride for the team until the end of this season.
Speaking about his return to WorldSBK, Mackenzie said: “I’m really happy to be back on the grid and especially with a team like MGM Bonovo. A well-established team plus a really nice bike to go with it!
“Everything is going to be new to me this weekend in all aspects, including the track, but I’m really excited to start riding again after not racing since Misano. It’s not going to be easy for sure, but luckily, I have a good team around me with some experienced people to make the transition a lot easier. I have no expectations this weekend other than just to learn and have fun again. I can’t wait!”
