Electric motorcycles have just ticked off a significant milestone in top-level racing, after it secured the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship Manufacturers’ title. The result, which took place at the final round of the 2026 season, marks the first time an electric motorcycle brand has managed the feat.

The company’s Stark Varg EX enduro machine lined up against the usual mix of factory-backed petrol-powered bikes throughout the season, tackling the tight indoor tracks that define the SuperEnduro season. These aren’t your average dirt circuits either, with riders forced through rock gardens you would struggle to walk over, log piles and awkward technical jumps.

The championship has traditionally been the domain of big-name manufacturers like KTM, Husqvarna and Honda, and features some very quick riders, including multiple-time world champ Billy Bolt and fellow factory ace Jonny Walker.

While Stark didn’t take the riders’ crown, consistency across the season proved enough to clinch the manufacturers’ title, with the Swedish rider, Eddie Karlsson, playing a key part of that effort, finishing fourth overall and banking a steady stream of points aboard the Varg EX.

Teammate Toby Martyn, who joined the team for the 2026 season, also played his part, quickly adapting to both the indoor discipline and the electric machine, chalking up a fifth-place finish in the standings.

For Stark’s racing boss Sébastien Tortelli, the moment marks a fairly remarkable turnaround. Just a couple of years ago, the team had been refused entry to the series, only to now leave the same championship with a world title.

Company founder Anton Wass says the result proves the firm’s original ambition: to build electric off-road bikes capable of competing with the best in the world.

Speaking about the result, Eddie Karlsson said:

“First of all, I’m really happy for the team and everyone involved. To secure the manufacturer’s title in SuperEnduro is really special. I’m also pleased to finish fourth overall in the championship."

"We improved throughout the season, with three podiums and some really close battles. Taking a SuperPole in the final round was also a great moment."

"Overall I’m very happy with the season and already looking forward to next year to keep improving and fight for wins.”
