Stark Future has grand ideas to improve energy density, charging speed, and thermal management for its next-generation of electric motorcycles.

Stark says it wants to achieve ultra-fast charging that takes only 10–15 minutes as part of a performance target set out by the company, which also includes an energy density of 330Wh/kg (watt-hours per kilogram).

To help with the development of the 26120 cylindrical cell, it has entered into a strategic partnership with Chinese company Wanxiang A123.

The 26120 is “purpose-built around the packaging realities of two-wheel performance”, says Stark, adding that the new cell’s format “advances energy density, charging speed, and thermal management far beyond car-adapted cells”.

The 26120 claims to offer a cleaner working efficiency method than other common rechargeable battery cells. It features an aluminium system that is claimed to improve heat transfer, while also reducing weight.

Stark Future has already been working on the new 26120 system, as it originally began developing it in partnership with EVE Energy.

The new partnership with Wanxiang A123 will allow the electric motorcycle company to benefit from A123’s high-powered technology, which has been used to develop battery programmes for Formula 1.

Dr. Jack Li, General Manager of A123, said this about the new agreement:

"A123 has always focused on high-power lithium-ion battery technologies. The development of the 26120 not only fully demonstrates the technical advantages accumulated by A123 over the long term but also reflects our courage and capability to continuously pioneer and innovate in emerging fields."

Anton Wass, CEO & Founder, Stark Future added:

"Motorcycles deserve their own battery architecture, not hand-me-downs from the car industry. With 26120, we unlock capacity and reduce weight while improving charge time. It's a step change for electric performance."

The news comes after Stark recently revealed its record growth figures in 2025, where it reported a sales growth of 77 per cent year-on-year, reaching €115 million in revenue.
