Dainese confirms new ownership amid €30m investment boost
Dainese officially has new ownership after the European Commission approved HPS and Arcmont’s takeover of the Italian brand.

Italian riding kit specialist Dainese has undergone a full ownership change, as well as having a €30m investment injected into the company.
The change in ownership was confirmed by Dainese, following European Commission antitrust approval. It means HPS Investment Partners and Arcmont Asset Management have taken over from previous owner, Carlyle Group, which originally bought Dainese for €630m in 2022.
While the new €30m (£26m) equity investment will be a welcome boost for Dainese, the takeover has also seen the Italian company’s debt reduced by a massive €190m (£165m). Dainese is also receiving a “revolving credit facility” of €45m (£39m).
A statement from Angel Sánchez, CEO of Dainese, about the completed takeover, said:
“This transaction represents a great milestone for Dainese. HPS and Arcmont are both investors and partners who have chosen to share our vision, passion for innovation and unwavering commitment to safety and quality. Their support will allow us to build on our momentum, explore new pathways and continue developing products that seamlessly integrate technology, protection and design.”
“We also wish to thank Carlyle for their partnership in recent years, which helped expand our global presence and enhance our product portfolio. We look ahead with confidence, ready to achieve new milestones. The future is wide open before us, and we are prepared to embrace it at full speed.”
The last few months have certainly not been the easiest for Dainese, which remains one of the most premium bike kit providers in the world.

In racing, three-time WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu has switched from Dainese to Alpinestars for the 2026 MotoGP season, his first in the Grand Prix paddock with Yamaha. Razgatlioglu’s team-mate Jack Miller has also switched from Dainese to Alpinestars leathers.
