Simoncelli: "I didn't want to hit Biaggi"

Mad Marco tells us all about THAT Imola overtaking move

REIGNING 250cc GP World Champion Marco Simoncelli has been talking about his weekend in the WSB championship at Imola last weekend when the Afro'd star rode the Aprilia RSV4 alongside Max Biaggi.

Speaking last night, Simoncelli said: "The paddock felt very different to the MotoGP paddock and it was great to be so close to the fans and have a warm paddock to be in. It was quite strange for me to be in that atmosphere, it was exciting to be in that paddock but I did find it a little hard for working in.

"At the outset he (Biaggi) was a little strange but that seemed to help me stay calm, I have been in that sort of thing before and I have not had any problems dealing with it over a race weekend.

"Riding the four-stroke after the two-stroke felt very different, it felt like a different sport! I had problems with braking and the engine braking wasn't as settled as it was during the tests at Mugello, so I had problems in qualifying and the first race.

"When I ran into him (Biaggi) at the Variante chicane that was not something I wanted to do so I am very happy that it did not cause a crash there."

Yeah, right.
