Triumph launches updated TF 250-X following maiden MX2 title win
Triumph has launched a heavily refined TF 250-X following its maiden world championship win with Guillem Farres in MX2.
Following its maiden world championship win in MX2, Triumph has decided to roll out an updated version of the TF 250-X for 2027, with both the engine and suspension undergoing updates.
Starting with the power unit, Triumph has revised the engine calibration to improve throttle response, rideability and torque delivery.
New valve guides, updated clutch components and refined gearchange hardware are also part of the significant update.
Despite these changes, the same 249cc single-cylinder unit remains, producing a claimed 47.4bhp and 21.1 Ib-ft of torque.
Up next is the suspension, with Triumph revising the KYB package that helped steer Guillem Farres and the TF 250-X to the 2026 MX2 title.
The new setup includes revised front and rear settings designed to improve balance, damping control and rider feedback.
Additionally, new toolless suspension adjusters have been added to enable quick setup changes to be made trackside.
The bike's KYB suspension houses 48mm coil spring forks up front offering compression and rebound adjustment, as well as 310mm wheel travel. The rear setup offers 305mm of travel, plus compression adjustment (high and low speed), and rebound adjustment.
Updated Neken triple clamps and a revised chain guide are also part of the 2027 update, while the TF 250-X now benefits from a new all-black bodywork kit featuring updated graphics and redesigned fork guards.
Speaking about the 2027 TF 250-X following the British company’s maiden MX2 title win, Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer at Triumph Motorcycles, said:

Competing at that level gives us the opportunity to continuously evaluate every aspect of the motorcycle in the most demanding conditions possible.
“The feedback from our riders, race teams and engineering teams helped identify opportunities to further improve engine response, shift precision, chassis feedback and suspension performance, and those lessons have directly shaped the 2027 model. The TF 250-X has already proven its capability at the highest level of the sport. For 2027, we've refined the areas that matter to riders and racers, building on an already successful platform to deliver even greater consistency, control and confidence."
