New Triumph Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition Launched

The bike is inspired by the famous ‘Slippery Sam’ race bike, although this year’s example has a moodier aesthetic than before

Following on from the 2024 Trident Triple Tribute, Triumph has launched a new version of the pretty little roadster, this time finished with a stealthy black, blue and red design.

Like the 2024 edition of the bike, it features a few key details inspired by the famous 750cc Trident race bike, which competed in races like the Isle of Man TT in the 1970s. The bike allegedly gained its name after the 1970 Bol d'Or, a 24-hour race, when an oil leak caked the bike and any rider following it in oil.

Various nods to Slippery Sam are dotted around the bike, such as the famous bike’s ‘67’ race number, which features on the fuel tank sides and top. The bike also gains a colour-matched flyscreen and bellypan, while it also comes equipped with a quickshifter and Bluetooth connectivity module as standard. The final element marking this bike at as the special edition is the use of striking red wheels.

As before, the technical details of the engine remain the same as the stock bike. That means you get a 660cc inline three-cylinder engine, which produces a claimed 80bhp at 10,250rpm and 47lb ft at 6,250rpm.

Speaking about the bike, Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer, Triumph Motorcycles, said:

“Since its launch in 2020, this middle-weight roadster has reinvigorated this highly competitive category, selling more than 35,600 units worldwide.

“It’s triple engine and premium detailing at a great price, has been successful in bringing younger and new riders to Triumph, and just as ‘Slippery Sam’ once inspired a generation, we believe this special edition has the iconic style, extra technology and dynamic performance to appeal to today’s Triumph fans.”

The new bike is already available from UK Triumph dealerships and can be picked up for £8,045 (OTR), making only a slight price hike over the stock 2025 Trident.
