Suzuki SV650 ‘Rally’ spotted at Osaka Motorcycle Show

What happens if you cross a new SV650 with a retro bike and a rally car? This, apparently.

THIS Suzuki SV650 ‘Rally’ was spotted at the Osaka Motorcycle Show in Japan over the weekend.

Essentially it’s a tarted-up SV650, created as a concept bike that aims to blend retro bike style with 1970’s rally car influence, which probably explains those fog lights.

This SV was also created as a way of demonstrating how easy it is to alter the image of the model with a small number of parts.

As you can see, the bike hasn’t exactly been reimagined from the ground-up, but small changes like the addition of fog lamps, a single seat cover and that small side cowl running from under the headlamp to the tank, have a nice impact and lend the bike some visual character.

The other changes to this SV650 include clip-on bars, a different front mudguard, bar end mirrors, a clean looking stacked Yoshimura exhaust. One of the nicer smaller details is the Suzuki logo on the seat unit written in Katakana characters.

There are currently no plans to put this model on sale – the parts aren’t in mass production yet but that could change if the bike gets a good reception.
