Sachs, now SFM, launches 125cc bikes
Re-enters the UK (full-size) 125 market
GERMAN manufacturer SFM, formerly Sachs, has announced two new 125cc bikes for the UK learner market.
The Nuremberg-based company, which was founded in 1886 and produced bikes such as the Roadster 800, went through insolvency a few years ago and was rechristened SFM (Sachs Fahrzeug und Motorentechnik GmbH) in 2008.
Though it sells Chinese-sourced scooters and small motorcycles in other markets, here in the UK, it offers only the nutty little MadAss 125 and Saxonette electric bicycles.
However, for 2013, SFM is bringing two of its 125cc motorcycles across the channel, via official distributor 3X Motorcycles.
The supermoto-styled ZZ125 and the enduro inspired ZX125 both sport proven single-cylinder, four-stroke engines producing 11.5 bhp, housed in a redesigned chassis. Both bikes feature wavy discs front and rear, upside-down forks and digital speedometer, and are priced at £1,999 inclusive of VAT.
