Headbanger Saten

Italian custom factory launches new 600cc enduro

HEADBANGER Motorcycles has launched its new enduro-styled Satèn at the Verona Motorcycle Show.

The Franciacorta, Italy-based company specialises in custom motorcycles powered by big American twins, so the Satèn represents a bit of a departure. The brief, says Headbanger, was to design a "single-cylinder motorcycle, built by hand, with painstaking detail; a ‘special’, reminiscent of 70s bikes."

The Satèn (named after a fine local wine) is powered by a 600cc air-cooled, carbureted, single cylinder engine, with both electronic ignition and kickstart. The 140 kg bike sports 17-inch wheels, designed to take both street and heavy-tread tyres, and front and rear disc brakes. Other features include a handcrafted leather saddle, aluminium tail section, and 'raw metal' paintjob.

The company says that the new bike is "dedicated to all those who refute banality and appreciate and share values such as simplicity, healthy ignorance (which means no electronics, fuel injection nor software) and freedom, but also lovers of 60s and 70s music and of sheer fun, and who yearn for an essential, light, enjoyable motorcycle, ideal for urban contexts and dirt tracks alike."

The Satèn is priced at 9,000 euros (approx £7,560).
