HESSLER Rallye Team (HRT) Have launched this Desert Express conversion kit for the new Suzuki 2020 V-Strom 1050 XT.

First seen on the Suzuki stand at EICMA last week, the kit uses frame and V-Twin engine of Suzuki’s flagship adventure machine but uses new components manufactured in-house by HRT, plus modified suspension and a plethora of aftermarket parts.

The new bike gains 30mm of suspension travel compared with the standard bike (160mm up to 190mm), thanks to modified front forks and a Wilbers rear shock. To compliment the new suspension, HRT have made a bespoke rear shock linkage specifically for this bike.

Clasping the new forks are custom-made yolks that are fitted with Magura X-Line handlebars. The bike also features custom built footpeg hangers that carry RM-Z450 footpegs including the rear brake pedal and gear lever.

A lift kit raises the front mudguard to fit Anlas Capra X tyres, brake and clutch levers come courtesy of Probrake, and there’s a new luggage rack and number plate assembly. For the obligatory rally-rumble Mivv has supplied a tasty looking end-can to finish off the back end nicely.

Available from dr-big-shop.de, the kit costs €3,895.

The standard V-Strom 1050XT uses a 1037cc V-Twin engine that kicks out 106hp. The frame is a lightweight, aluminium, twin-spar aluminium frame set up.

The new bike is also equipped with the new Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), which features a full suite of electronics including an inertial measurement unit (IMU), lean-angle sensitive ABS with two settings, linked brakes that can detect and adapt to load and inclines, plus hill hold control and cruise control.
