New GasGas Moto takes Spanish brand into urban cruiser e-bike segment

GasGas has launched the new Moto, an urban e-bike aimed at combining function and style while providing a platform that people of all sizes can ride.

GasGas Moto

The GasGas Moto is the Spanish brand’s ‘urban cruiser’ entry into the city-based e-bike market.

GasGas’ new Moto is described by the Spanish manufacturer as an “urban cruiser” that is “high energy, vibrant, and pure fun,” in a press release. Its relative ease of accessibility would seem to emphasise GasGas’ position within the Pierer Mobility Group as its ‘fun’ brand, something that was highlighted in the past when it made its debut in the premier class of both AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross in 2020 and signed Justin Barcia.

The GasGas Moto’s inspiration comes from the cruiser-style beach bicycles from California, with its ‘one size fits all’ design centred around a (“very red,” as GasGas notes) steel frame, on top of which is a long, almost dirt-bike-style seat along which the rider can slide to find their preferred riding position.

The electric assistance comes from a rear hub motor, which is supplied by a battery of optional capacity, up to 672Wh.

There will also be a special edition of the Moto with a 0.75kW (1hp) motor, but this will only be marketed in the US.
