Yamaha has announced a series of changes to bring its popular MT-125 closer to its bigger hypernaked siblings.

Looking more like an MT-09 and MT-07 than ever before, the refreshed MT-125 gains an all-new look, including a redesigned seat and a more sculpted fuel tank design.

The side fairing has taken on a new design, too, gaining a revised textured panel alongside a transparent dark smoke pattern, complete with the brand’s MT logo.

The front of the bike has also undergone changes, with a pair of smaller LED position lights placed underneath the central headlight.

Additionally, LED indicators have also been positioned below the fuel tank’s shoulders, which is a change from beneath the handlebars.

Mechanically, the bike remains unchanged, meaning the A1-licence machine continues to be powered by its liquid-cooled 125cc single with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation).

The MT-125 produces a claimed 14.7bhp at 10,000rpm alongside 8.4 Ib-ft of torque at 8,000rpm.

As well as the engine, the MT-125 also retains its Deltabox frame, 41mm upside down forks and 810mm seat height.

For 2027, the updated model will be available in four colourways, including a new Redline White featuring a two-tone seat design.

The new Redline White option arrives alongside the Ice Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black, with a bold new 125 graphic on the side.

According to Yamaha, the new model will arrive in European dealerships during the first quarter of 2027. Full pricing has not yet been confirmed, although this information is available by contacting your national Yamaha distributor.
