TRIUMPH has given the legendary 2,500cc halo of the range a makeover, with the limited edition Rocket 3 R Black and Rocket 3 GT Triple Black for 2021.
The bikes will be strictly limited to just 1,000 examples globally, with each version arriving with a certificate of authenticity, linking the bike’s VIN to the special edition bloodline.

The ‘meaner, moodier’ versions of the Rocket 3 R and GT take a leaf out of the Bonneville and Bobber Black’s book, with stealthy black colour schemes and premium finishes aplenty.

Both bikes feature the same technical specification as the stock Rocket 3. That means you get a thumping great 2,500cc engine, 165bhp, 163lb-ft, top-class suspension, and Brembo Stylema calipers.
The changes for each bike come in the form of a bespoke styling package and of course, the all-new colour schemes.
The Rocket 3 R Black features an all-black colour scheme, with matt finishes on the fuel tank and body panels adding to the moody aesthetic. Highlighting the bike's fuel tank are bespoke black Triumph badges, and a gloss black racing stripe (complete with specific branding decals) running alongside the aluminium strap.
The Rocket 3 GT is a much more glossy affair, with a special fuel tank design dragging your eye away from the other areas of the bike. It features a classy-looking paint job with a distinctive three-shade black paint scheme.
Both machines also feature a host of one-off components for the two new limited edition models. For starters, they come fitted with a carbon fibre front mudguard, a part that’s not available for purchase from the official Triumph accessory line.
On top of that, they both feature black exhaust headers, heat shields, and end caps. A dedicated crinkle black powder-coated intake cover finishes off the blacked-out engine style. At the front of the bikes, black mudguard mounts have been used, along with black painted headlight bezels, and fly screen finishers, radiator cowls, and badging.
Adding to the new moody look are black anodised components, including fork lowers, yokes, risers, and handlebar clamps, rider footrests, brake and gear pedals, heel guards, pillion footrests, and hangers. The list of black anodised components continues with the rear frame forging, RSU rocker, swingarm guard, side stand, brake, and clutch levers, and black anodised bar-end mirrors with machined detailing fitted as standard in the UK.

Landing a new limited edition Rocket 3 in your garage this year might cost less than you think. Triumph has priced the two machines at just £1,000 more than the base version of the bike. That means the Rocket 3 R Black comes in at £21,000 and the Rocket 3 GT Triple Black at £21,700. If you were thinking of buying a new Rocket 3 in 2021, it may be time to re-evaluate your options.
