The Husqvarna Svartpilen 901 seems set for a March reveal, after a teaser video was published by the Swedish brand.

Husqvarna seems set to reveal the Svartpilen 901 on 5 March 2024, judging by the caption to its teaser video of the bike published on Instagram (which you can see below).

A reveal so early in the year would seem to indicate a 2024 date for the bike to land in dealers.

The bike will carry the neo-retro scrambler styling of the Svartpilen 401 and Svartpilen 125 (whose 2024 versions were recently launched), but will also bring to the table KTM’s LC8c parallel-twin. What is not yet confirmed is whether the Svartpilen 901 will use the 889cc version of the LC8c that is already used in the Husqvarna Norden 901 by the Swedish marque, or whether it will take the 799cc version that is currently built by CFMoto and used in bikes like the KTM 790 Duke and KTM 790 Adventure.

The Svartpilen 901 was recently shown in spy photos published by Motorrad, alongside a Vitpilen 901. Husqvarna’s teaser leaves us no clearer on the status of the latter.

In any case, this 901 update will mark the biggest Svartpilen and Vitpilen models to date, as the largest of the either we’ve seen thus far have used the 693cc single-cylinder LC4 in their old 701 forms. So, history is on the cards for Husqvarna with its now-anticipated mid-capacity nakeds.

The chassis of the bikes are, like the engine, borrowed from KTM, from the steel tubular frames themselves to the WP suspension (upside-down telescopic fork at the front, monoshock and aluminium swingarm) at the rear, and even the aluminium rear subframe.
