Horwin Senmenti 0 – Is 125mph too fast for a scooter?
The Horwin Senmenti 0 is a sleek-looking scooter boasting a near 125mph top speed and all-electric power – but is that too fast?

54 years 8 monthsELECTRIC scooters really are nothing new, in fact, the step-thru’ world was one of the first to jump on the battery power hype. The Horwin Senmenti 0 though is something a bit different, boasting extreme amounts of torque, long range, and petrol motorcycle matching top speeds.
The Chinese brand first revealed the concept at the recent EICMA show in Milan, and it became quickly clear while looking at the details of the bike, Horwin was here to try and shake things up.
Obviously, it is an all-electric machine, meaning you get all the shove from none of the revs and clean convenient running. We’ve seen that before from electric scoots, but what we haven’t seen though, is a scooter with a 300km (186-mile) claimed range, and 30-minute fast charging. The battery is compatible with some of the fastest charging systems on the road, meaning you can go from flat to 80 percent (most manufacturers claim that to be full as it’s better for the battery) in an extremely short amount of time.
And don’t think this is just some tawdry long-distance machine, for ultra-long commutes up and down the M1. The real party piece of the Horwin comes in the form of petrol-powered bike rivalling performance. The battery, motor, and controller are a 400v system, making it pretty much the most powerful electric scooter on the roads. That power system means the Horwin Senmenti 0 boasts a claimed 600Nm (442lb-ft) of torque. To put that into perspective, the Triumph Rocket 3 produces a mammoth 221Nm (163lb-ft) of torque, and that is not a bike that you’d call weedy.
Horwin Senmenti 0 top speed
But while this machine has the grunt to pull small continents, it’s not even the grunt that is the headline here. The Senmenti is also claimed to have a 125mph top speed, and a zero to 60 time of under 2 seconds. Now, that’s all well and good on a spec sheet, but on the road, in the rain, with diesel, potholes and drain covers… It does make me wonder if it might be (and I’m sorry for saying this) a bit too quick!
As it is stands, the Senmenti 0 from Horwin is just a concept, but it does seem to be backed up by some tech that can legitimately achieve Horwin’s claims. If we ever see it on the road in that form though, remains to be seen.
