”All-New” Indian Scout Set for April Reveal

The Indian Scout is set for a reveal within the next few weeks, as an early April date is confirmed by the American manufacturer

Indian Scout

The Indian Scout is one of the most historic motorcycle models in the world, and a new generation is set for launch in the next few weeks.

Indian Motorcycle has confirmed that the new Indian Scout will be revealed on 2 April 2024, meaning we have to wait only around two-and-a-half weeks from now to see the new bike.

A 30-second trailer for a global premiere of the bike was uploaded to Indian’s YouTube page. The trailer doesn’t give much away at all, but the use of an early-20th-century camera with an original Scout suggests the new model will pay particular homage to its earliest ancestor. The recently released 2024 Indian Roadmaster Elite was made available in a colour scheme using the famous Indian Motorcycle Red paint, and perhaps the new Scout will be available in the same colour.

The original Scout arrived in 1920, almost two decades after Indian made its first motorised bicycle. Along with the Springfield, it was one of Indian’s most-popular models, first with a 606cc engine, and then, from 1927, with a 745cc motor. By now, of course, the Scout is displacing rather a lot more: its most recent form used a 1,133cc V-twin producing 95bhp and 72lb ft.

Within the next month, we will know the specifications of what Indian describes as an “all-new” Scout, when it will be available, and probably how much more those specifications are going to cost than the current bike’s £12,995.
