Luxury motorcycle maker Midual presents the new Francaise!
Luxury motorcycle maker Midual has revealed its new cafe racer creation, and my word, is it beautiful.

Midual, a French company that specialises in building luxury motorcycles, has revealed an ultra-rare cafe racer that will be available in just five units.
Called ‘Francaise’, the new bike is based on the recently introduced Type 1 Series 3 model. The latter arrived with a mind-blowing price tag of €186,000, or around £165,000 at today’s exchange rate.
The price of the new Francaise model, as of this writing, remains unknown. However, it could push towards the €300,000 (around £260,000) mark, which would not be out of the ordinary for a Midual motorcycle.
That’s because the French brand already revealed the Quintessence in 2025, which was priced at exactly €300,000. Despite the ultra-rare availability of the new Francaise model, the Quintessense was launched as an even more rare bike, with just three units built.

Quite a lot is still unknown about the new Francaise model; however, we can see that its handlebars are positioned slightly differently from those of the Type 1 Series 3.
It also features a different look at the front of the bike, with a screen coming over the top of its round headlight. The French flag can be seen on the side of the fuel tank, while the blue seat distinguishes it from anything else in Midual’s repertoire.
The two bikes are very similar in terms of their slim rear section behind the rider’s seat, while the exhaust setup also takes after the design from the Type 1 Series 3.
Mechanically, the bike uses Midual’s tried, tested and incredibly intriguing boxer twin. Instead of the cylinders poking out on each side of the bike, the engine on the Midual is mounted longitudinally, with the pistons running fore and aft. Despite the wacky design, the engine performance from the 1,036cc engine remains modest, with just 100 bhp and 69 lb ft claimed. With that in mind, this might be one of the most expensive £ per BHP conversions in the two-wheeled world.
The bike is said to be road-legal, which we would have expected, although it’s a bike that will most likely still attract collectors and probably never be spotted on the road.
The bike was first seen at last month’s Retromobile show in Paris, and it is set to appear at the 2-Wheel Show in Lyon later this month.
