The Lenovo Ducati MotoGP team could be back at full strength for the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello, with Marc Marquez eyeing up a return this weekend.

The nine-time world champion has been out of action since the sprint race at Le Mans, in France, following a heavy fall that required yet another surgery for the Spaniard.

Marquez injured his foot during the fall, however, he also underwent surgery on his shoulder which had been causing him nerve issues in 2026.

According to a report from Motorsport.com, Marquez has been listed on the provisional entry list for this weekend’s Italian MotoGP, suggesting a return could be on the cards.

One rider that won’t be racing is his brother Alex Marquez, while LCR Honda rider Johann Zarco will also be out of action at Mugello.

Like Alex Marquez, the French rider suffered a nasty crash in Catalunya last time out, although Zarco is yet to undergo surgery despite the crash happening more than a week ago.

LCR is currently “working on” finding a replacement, although it’s unclear if official Honda test riders Aleix Espargaro and Takaaki Nakagami are in contention. The LCR team said this on X (Formerly known as Twitter):

“While Johann Zarco is awaiting surgery, the Castrol Honda LCR team is still working on finding his replacement for the upcoming races. More information will be shared soon, once everything is finalized and secured.

“Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”

The Italian Grand Prix will kick off a busy period for MotoGP with a further three rounds to follow in June.
