Australian ace Josh Brookes will return to the Isle of Man TT Supersport class in 2026 with a new-look Suzuki effort, after being confirmed as the rider for the freshly formed Uggly & Co Racing team.

The deal will see the 42-year-old line up in both Monster Energy Supersport TT races aboard one of the new-generation Suzuki GSX-R750 machines, giving the Japanese brand another crack at the class as the rules continue to evolve away from traditional 600cc machinery.

For Uggly & Co, it marks a sizeable step up from paddock supporter to fully fledged race team. The brand has long been part of the TT scene through sponsorships and its popular spectator spot at Black Dub, but 2026 will be the first time it has run its own team on the Mountain Course.

And in Brookes, it has signed a rider with plenty of TT pedigree already under his belt. The Australian has six top-ten Supersport finishes to his name, including a best result of fifth place in 2024 with Jackson Racing’s Honda outfit. He’s also no stranger to Suzuki machinery at the TT, having made his debut on a GSX-R back in 2013.

Brookes’ Supersport CV stretches well beyond the Isle of Man, too. Before carving out a long career in British Superbike, he won the Australian Supersport Championship in 2004, claimed a World Supersport race win as a wildcard, and finished third overall in the 2008 World Championship.

Speaking about the new project, Brookes said:

“It’s a new project but an exciting one and having made my TT debut on a Suzuki back in 2013 I have high hopes for the GSX750 on the Mountain Course. Although we are a new team, we’ve got some good people involved so we hope to keep building on the package and my confidence as we get more time on the bike and then see what we can do at the TT.”

The team will also roll out a retro-inspired livery for its debut campaign, taking cues from the factory race bikes of the 1980s and 1990s, with a nod to Suzuki legend Kevin Schwantz and the golden era of Grand Prix racing.
