Honda updates three iconic 125 models with fresh paint

Honda’s three miniature icons have joined much bigger, and more powerful models, in receiving new colours from the Japanese brand for 2026.

It’s a case of as you were for Honda’s iconic trio - Monkey 125, ST125 Dax and the Super Cub C125 - as no mechanical or technical changes have been made for 2026. However, the Japanese giants have revealed a new set of colours for each model.

Let’s start with the pocket-sized Monkey 125, which retains its Euro5+ compliant air-cooled 124cc engine, which is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Its steel frame, USD forks (offering 100mm of travel), 12-inch wheels and IMU-controlled ABS braking all remain part of the bike’s setup.

Recognised as a groovy icon during the 1970s, the Monkey 125 now comes in three new colour options, which are Mat Gun Powder Black Metallic, Knight Silver Metallic and Millennium Red, and Pearl Himalayas White with Banana Yellow.

That’s a lot of words to describe three colours, but each option looks very appealing to the naked eye.

The Monkey 125’s last mechanical update took place in 2025, when it received mild tweaks to the engine. According to Honda, its miniature icon is set to eclipse 25,000 total sales since its return to the range in 2018.

Then comes the ST125 Dax, which features 31mm USD forks, 12-inch wheels and air-cooled SOHC two-valve engine that produces 6.9kW of peak power (9.2 bhp) at 7,000rpm and 8 Ib-ft of torque at 5,000rpm. Like the Monkey 125, it also gets full LED lighting and an LCD dash.

The updated ST125 Dax is also available in three colourways, although only two of those are new. They are the Pearl Horizon White and Candy Energy Orange variants, while the Pearl Shining Black keeps its place in the line-up.

Then there’s the Super Cub C125 which features just the one new colour option; Premium Silver Metallic with Pearl Sugarcane Beige. Beyond its looks, the Super Cub C125 is also unchanged after gaining Euro+5 compliance as part of its 2025 update.

It produces slightly more power than the ST125 Dax, with its 124cc air-cooled engine delivering 7.2kW (9.6 bhp) at 7,500rpm, although torque is slightly less, coming in at 7.6 Ib-ft.
