Hush Cycles is promising a new “benchmark” will arrive at EICMA
Hush Cycles' first model, the Superior GT, boasts 50 litres of luggage space and is powered by a Verge-developed powertrain.

For every electric bike brand that seems to be floundering in the weeds, another is queuing up to take its place in the market. The latest of those is Hush Cycles and its Superior GT. A battery-powered sports naked that its makers promise will revolutionise the battery bike industry.
And if you think that phrase is familiar, it is. Pretty much every slick start-up in the electric bike sector makes big promises. But, as is the ongoing saga at Damon, we have got fairly used to seeing those promises going unfulfilled.

What makes this brand slightly different is the powertrain its bike is using. Instead of designing its own motor, battery and controller, Hush has leaned on a technical partnership with the electric bike brand Verge - the one with the wild-looking hubless motor that seems to sit within the wheel rim. Of all the recent start-ups in the e-bike sphere, Verge seems to be one of the more stable - outside of the UK, at least.
The Superior GT is promising to blend performance and usability into one clean and modern package. 0-60 is claimed to be hit in 2.5 seconds, while a top speed of 124mph is also claimed. The numbers that really matter, though, are the range and recharge times, and should the claims made by Hush be true, the bike could actually be quite usable, thanks to 124 miles of range and 25-minute fast charging.

Sure, it’s not anywhere near as quick as refilling a 15-litre fuel tank (and in most cases won’t take you as far), although for some riders, that’s all the range they’ll ever need.
What we don’t know just yet is the price, although with Hush apparently only making 300 examples of the Superior GT, it’s clear this is a bike at the high-end (and probably high price) end of the electric bike segment - and we can all remember how that worked out for Arc Motor and its near £100,000 Vector...
We’ll be at EICMA when the prototype gets unveiled and will try and chat with the team on the stand.
