Honda has confirmed people visiting this weekend’s Japanese MotoGP will have the opportunity to sit aboard its new self-balancing Koraidon Pokémon motorcycle.

The quirky new bike stole the show during the Suzuka 8 Hours race back in August, as it performed its first-ever solo run in public.

On that occasion, the bike was seen riding in a straight line, before performing turns on the start-finish straight. However, that was strictly on its own and without the need for a rider. The Pokemon-inspired motorcycle is now going, not one, but two steps further this time around.

Along with the public being able to sit on the bike for the first time, it will also be operated by a rider as part of a “manned running demonstration” for the first time.

For those who have a ticket to this weekend’s event, which could see Marc Marquez crowned a seven-time MotoGP champion, you will be able to attend the Mobility Resort Motegi with a Japanese GP spectator ticket or parking pass. The Mobility Resort Motegi is where the exhibition will take place.

There will be one session per day where the bike is operated by a rider as part of the schedule, while the “mounting experience” for the public includes two slots on Friday, 26 September and Saturday, 27 September.

You can find out more information about the program and what’s included by visiting the official Mobility Resort Motegi website.
