Glenn Irwin has been retained for a third season with the PBM Racing Team in 2025 as he looks to become BSB champion for the first time.

A runner-up by the narrowest of margins in 2023 - Irwin lost out on the title to team-mate at the time Tommy Bridewell by half a point, before claiming third this past season.

Speaking about the renewal Irwin said: “First of all, to re-sign with PBM and to continue onboard the Ducati was an absolute priority; to be honest it didn’t take much negotiation. Jordan, Frank and Johnny came to my motorhome at Donington Park and everyone is on the same wavelength.

“We all want to win; we are all working hard, purely to win championships. I think also after my recent announcement with my career, my sole goal is to win the British Superbike Championship. We know that is the goal of the team too as they chase their tenth title.

“To have a two-year contract is cool, as in one sense you have security, but what makes it so cool is that we have consistency, something that I will be working hard on myself too. Hopefully, the stars align a little better as this year was a little bit tough at times, but we have put that behind us and are working hard towards 2025 and 2026 with Ducati.

“So I have to say thank you to the team and all of our sponsors for making it happen. To Jordan and Frank, to Johnny and the entire team let’s go and continue where we have left off the past two seasons. For me, I am looking within myself for more and seeing what I need to bring to the table in the search for that elusive first championship.”

Irwin staying at PBM Ducati gives the team a rider it knows very well, but there is change at the Moto Rapido Racing as Leon Haslam has been brought in to lead the team’s title charge, replacing Christian Iddon in the process.

Haslam, who rode for the ROKIT Haslam BMWMotorrad Team in 2024, said: “I am super excited for next year and returning to Ducati where it all first started for me on the Superbike back in 2003. I got my first ever BSB race win and World Championship podium with them and it was where my Superbike career really started.

“To go back to Ducati, riding for Wilf and the Moto Rapido Racing team, gives me the opportunity to try to win a second British Championship; everyone involved is so fired up for next year and for me that is the most important thing.

“I want to come back and have another go at winning this championship again, I can have a good winter and am excited to be ready to hit the ground running next year and try to win the title with Ducati.”
