The Vintage Motorcycle Club offers FREE classic loans to members

The Vintage Motorcycle Club is offering its members the chance to swing a leg over a classic and vintage motorcycle completely free

IN a bid to get more bums on classic seats, the Vintage Motorcycle Club is throwing open its garage doors and offering members free loans of its classic and vintage motorbikes.

As reported by the BMF, the scheme is only open to BMF members but other than that (and the cost of any fuel used) it is completely free to get your classic bike fix with the VMCC.

How do you join the Vintage Motorcycle Club?

To join the VMCC you simply need to apply, and individual memberships cost just £42 at the time of writing. You don’t have to currently own a classic motorcycle either, or be a member of any affiliated motorcycle clubs or groups. Once you are a member you’ll have access to a pool of classic, modern classic, and vintage motorcycles, featuring some of the biggest marques and models from years gone by.

The garage currently includes bikes like the iconic Brough Superior (lead image), a bike that was bestowed to the VMCC by a long-time member. It was fully and faithfully restored between 2011 and 2012, by well-known Brough specialist Dave Clarke. It’s not clear from the VMCC website as to whether this is available for loan – we can but hope though!

For something slightly more modern, you could opt for this pretty BSA A50, presented in ready-to-ride condition and complete with after-market crash bars and fog lights.

If you have a hankering for a slightly more modern classic you could help put some miles on a very nicely turned-out 1989 Yamaha FJ1200.
