FOLLOWING the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation which entered a new phase last Thursday, 24 February, Lexmoto has announced a new collaboration with the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Lexmoto’s initiative will see them donate £5 to the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal for every Lexmoto sold in the month of March.

Since Russia’s renewed invasion of Ukraine began last week, more than one million people have been forced to flee Ukraine as refugees from the war, according to The Guardian. Additionally, reports have detailed Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian facilities and buildings, meaning any money raised in humanitarian aid can be of vital importance to Ukraine’s civilian population.

In an Instagram post, Lexmoto said “Everyone at Lexmoto has been utterly devastated and heartbroken to see the pain and suffering that’s being endured by the Ukrainian people.”

The post continued, “Tragically, too many innocent civilians have already lost their lives and many, many more have been displaced.” Lexmoto added, “We’ve decided that for every Lexmoto sold in March we will donate £5 to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal by the British Red Cross, to help get vital humanitarian aid to those who so desperately need it right now.”

With this announcement, Lexmoto follows MV Agusta in taking a stance on the events occurring in Ukraine. Earlier this week, on Wednesday 2 March 2022, we reported that Mv Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov had expressed his “disgust” at Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Elsewhere, Marc Marquez made the following social media post in support of Ukraine, and the FIM announced it would cancel the MXGP and Speedway GP rounds scheduled to take place in Russia, and the World Sidecarcross round scheduled to take place in Ukraine later this year.
