Leslie Porterfield makes Guinness speed record history

USA speed chick makes GBOR following record 232mph pass

AMERICAN FAST WOMAN Leslie Porterfield has officially entered the Guinness World Records books as the fastest woman on a motorcycle.

Porterfield’s speed of 232.522mph, set in the 2008 BUB Speed Trials at the Bonneville Salt Flats on a 2002 2000cc Turbo-charged Suzuki Hayabusa, nudges the female motorcycle dealer into the spotlight as the fastest woman-ever on two wheels.

“I couldn’t believe it when they called,” says Porterfield from her busy Dallas, Texas dealership, High Five Cycles. “It’s takes awhile after filing the paper work with the FIM (International Federation of Motorcycling) to get the record certificate, and then with Guinness – this has been going on for awhile and when they called I was just thrilled.”

The record was previously held for over 30 years by motocross rider and stuntwoman, Marcia Holley, set in 1978. Holley’s record of 229.361 was set with a single engine streamliner motorcycle.
