Drivers - surely you can see this one?

LED 'Think biker' signs launched

ILLUMINATED electronic signs are being installed at motorcycle accident black spots in an effort to reduce casualties.

The signs, carrying messages such as 'Think biker,' are being installed at nine locations in Lancashire.

County Councilor John Fillis, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: 'These signs are an important part of our plans and we've worked closely with the police to make sure we install them where they will have the biggest impact.

'The "Think biker" warnings are very visible and can be seen by approaching traffic. They are designed to encourage both motorcyclists and car drivers to be more aware of their surroundings and potential dangers.'

The signs will be on the A5147 southbound at Mairscough Lane; Scarisbrick south of the Scarisbrick Arms; the A675 Abbey Village to Belmont; Long Lane between Chorley and Rivington Barn; and the A6 Garstang Road northbound between junction 1 of the M55 and Broughton Village.
