Moto2 star David Alonso seemingly crashes after racing a plane
A video online seems to show MotoGP hopeful David Alonso crashing after racing an aircraft.

Young MotoGP hopeful David Alonso has taken part in a promotional race against an aircraft, although a separate video clip on social media has left us with more questions than answers.
During the original clip, which was shared by both Alonso and Red Bull Colombia on their individual Instagram accounts, Alonso narrowly clinches victory.
Alonso, who is seen riding a CFMoto machine, initially lost ground to the aeroplane which was flying close to the ground. However, as he picks up speed he eventually catches the plane and overtakes it by riding underneath it.
The video shows off the impressive skill that both Alonso and the pilot have, as the pair operate very close to one-another throughout. However, another clip has surfaced online which seems to show Alonso crashing at the end of the runway.
The original clip of the race can be seen below.
To no surprise, the clip shared by Alonso does not show footage of him crashing after the race, if that’s indeed what happened. Nor has the CFMoto Aspar Team made a statement suggesting he was involved in any type of incident.
However, a separate video was shared on Instagram by Mundo GP, which seems to show the young Colombian running out of tarmac before falling from his machine.
The bike also suffers a hefty impact, although the footage is unverified and very grainy, therefore it’s hard to confirm whether this was Alonso riding or not. The clip can be seen below.
Winner of the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2021, Alonso then became Moto3 world champion with the CFMoto Aspar Team in 2024, winning 14 out of 20 races during that season.
2026 will be Alonso’s third consecutive season with the CFMoto Aspar Team, and his second in the Moto2 world championship. Expected to be one of the main title contenders this year, Alonso claimed one victory as a Moto2 rookie in 2025.
