CARB filing reveals new Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP for 2027

Ducati is expected to add a brand-new Streetfighter V4 SP model alongside the new Panigale variant in 2027, with confirmation of the new bike coming from the California Air Resources Board (CARB), according to Motorcycle.com.

The paperwork comes a little over a month after it was revealed that a new Panigale V4 SP model was certified, also by CARB.

A ‘Sport Production’ variant would add yet another layer to the Italian company’s naked range, which already features two V2 models, as well as the ‘standard’ V4, V4 S, V4 S 100, V4 S Corse, and the very limited V4 Supreme.  

A global unveiling of the SP model will likely take place at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, this November, which is where the new Panigale V4 SP could also be revealed.

Based on the documents provided by CARB, the Streetfighter V4 SP will share the same engine as the existing V4 models, which is of no great surprise. 

That means it could produce somewhere in the region of 214 hp (211bhp) and around 88.5 Ib-ft of torque, which are figures shared by the V4 S and V4 S Corse motorcycles.

The Streetfighter V4 SP was first launched in 2022 as a more track-focused version of the standard production model.

The 2022 model also arrived with the same engine as the Streetfighter V4 at the time, however, it received a dry clutch and carbon fibre wheels instead of the aluminium ones.

The V4 SP variant also adopted suspension tuning used on the Panigale, while other differences between the two bikes included the SP receiving a brushed aluminium fuel tank, machined aluminium rearsets and Brembo Stylema R calipers.

This all took place before the standard model was updated in 2023, along with the arrival of an SP2 version, which also gained a special ‘Winter Test’ livery based on the colours used by Ducati’s MotoGP and WorldSBK teams during pre-season testing.
