Ducati updates its sports-touring track weapon for 2026
Ducati has unveiled the Multistrada V4 RS, a numbered-series edition with a track-focused engine and chassis plus long-distance comfort and range.

Ducati has pulled the covers off the latest addition to the Multistrada family, the new Multistrada V4 RS. It is the first Multistrada to feature the Desmosedici Stradale engine from the Panigale V4, combined with chassis and electronic updates aimed at balancing sports performance with long-distance comfort.
Engine and performance

At the heart of the bike is the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale V4, equipped with desmodromic timing, a dry clutch, and an Akrapovič muffler developed specifically for this model. Ducati has adapted the engine for Multistrada duty with a smoother delivery at low revs while maintaining its high-rev character.

The Euro 5+ compliant engine produces 177bhp and revs to a heady 13,500 limit. Final gearing has been shortened compared to the Multistrada Pikes Peak, although the gearbox itself remains the same. Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, which uses a sensor directly on the shift drum, is standard.
The V4 RS also comes with a billet aluminium STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, a component shared with Ducati’s superbike range. As with other Desmosedici Stradale engines, the rear cylinder bank can deactivate when the bike is stationary in neutral and above 70°C, helping manage heat. Valve clearance checks are scheduled every 30,000 km.

Chassis and suspension

The chassis uses a 17-inch front wheel and an aluminium monocoque frame, with geometry closer to the Multistrada Pikes Peak than the V4 S. A single-sided aluminium swingarm and Marchesini forged aluminium wheels are fitted as standard. Tyres are Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa, sized 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 190/55 ZR17 at the rear.

Suspension is handled by Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active units with event-based logic, a system borrowed from the Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S. Riders can choose from dedicated suspension modes, including Track, Dynamic, Touring, and Low Grip, independent of the riding modes.

Braking is provided by 330 mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and pads from the Panigale V4, while the rear uses a 280 mm disc with a Brembo floating caliper. Bosch-Brembo 10.3ME ABS Cornering is standard, with a new system that manages rear brake input even when only the front lever is used.
Weight savings have been achieved through forged wheels, carbon fibre bodywork, a titanium rear subframe, and a smaller battery. Compared to the Pikes Peak, the RS is 3 kg lighter.
Electronics

The V4 RS inherits Ducati’s latest electronics package, including radar at both ends for Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection. The new Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) feature, derived from MotoGP development, estimates forces acting on the motorcycle in real time, refining traction, wheelie control, and ABS strategies.

Four power modes are available (Full, High, Medium, Low), along with five riding modes (Race, Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet). Engine Brake Control is adjustable to three levels. The RS is the only Multistrada to feature the Full Power mode, which delivers maximum output in every gear.
The 6.5-inch TFT dash carries new graphics inspired by Ducati’s superbike range, with a dedicated control panel showing traction, wheelie, and ABS settings. Ducati Connect with smartphone mirroring is standard, supported by a ventilated phone compartment to keep devices cool during charging and navigation use.
Design and details

Styling changes include a slimmer techno-polymer tail unit, forged carbon fibre components such as the mudguard and handguards, and the new RS logo across the livery, key, and dash. The titanium subframe saves 2.5 kg compared to the standard Multistrada unit and is designed to carry three panniers.
Ergonomics are sportier than the standard Multistrada, with higher, more rearward footpegs, a lower and narrower handlebar, and softer grips.
Price and availability

The Multistrada V4 RS will be sold in a numbered series, with each bike carrying an aluminium plaque on the triple clamp. It will be offered in a single trim level, with radar technology included as standard, finished in a dedicated RS livery.
Deliveries will begin in Europe from November 2025, with the USA, Japan, and Australia to follow in late 2025 and early 2026. Like other models in the Multistrada range, the RS will be covered by Ducati’s “4Ever Multistrada” four-year unlimited mileage warranty in Europe.
