Garmin GPS bundle for adventurers

Montana 600 Moto Bundle with GB Discoverer priced at £529.99

Garmin has announced a new GPS bundle aimed at all-terrain adventure riders. The £529.99 pack includes the Montana 600 Sat Nav, a mount and Ordnance Survey mapping.

Here's the word from Garmin on the Montana 600 Moto bundle:

The Montana 600 is Garmin’s flagship all-terrain GPS. It has a bright 4-inch colour touchsceen display with dual orientation and perfect readability under any light condition so you can always see where you are. It also has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix® so it shouldn’t lose you even if you’re under trees or in the mountains.

It has key outdoor features such as a 3-axis tilt-compensated compass which shows you accurate headings even when you're standing still no matter how you hold or mount the device. It also has a barometric altimeter that gives precise elevation information and accurate elevation plot over time. Plus, with Garmin's unique dual battery system you'll have enough power to last even if you take your Montana out of the cradle.

The Montana™ 600 Moto bundle GB version comes with Garmin GB Discoverer™ maps which offer 1:50k Ordnance Survey mapping for the whole country as well as spoken, turn-by-turn driving directions on the road.

Also included is the rugged RAM mounting kit which attaches to your vehicle of choice – whether it’s a touring bike, trail bike or all-terrain vehicle. It’s perfect for any rough condition right out of the box.

The Montana 600 supports multiple types of maps. These include the City Navigator maps for use in the car, BlueChart® g2 preloaded cards for a great day on the water and Custom Maps which transform paper and electronic maps into downloadable maps for your device.

Download BaseCamp - a free utility that allows users to plan and manage trips, routes, tracks, and waypoints and transfer them between the computer and the Montana™ 600 Moto bundle. With the Track and Draw feature, users can trace a fluid track and get an immediate elevation profile to determine the difficulty of their adventure.

The Montana 600 Moto bundles are expected to be available in May 2012 with a suggested retail price of £529.99. Additional information about the Montana series is available at
