A brilliant starter tool for those who don't want speed.
More performance would be nice.

Overall Review

felt a deep attachment to it as my first bike- used to kiss it and talk to it!; would recommend it to anyone as a first bike; I also had fun with it as an introduction to the track

Strengths

good handling; fuel consumption- 300km to the tank; can be fun if keep revs high; never gave any problems up till traded in at 14000 kms; good looks

Weaknesses

not the most comfortable on longer trips; after a while obviousely want more power

Overall Review

Bought this after passing tests on my cbr125, originally bought a cbr600 but way too much power and agro for someone who has only been riding for 4 months and not really convenient for running to the supermarket and back regardless of what other people say. I love my 250, it smokes all cars from the lights and a lot of 600 if ridden smartly but at the same time is a joy to simply jump on and cruise to the shops for a pint of milk. Ok the pillion seat isnt made for epic mountain trips but my girlfriend loves the ride and even after an hour on country roads she still smiles!! Standard bike looks fantastic but spend a couple of hundred on tarting it up (i did!) and most people think your on a 600 superbike. Averaging 65mpg and once you have gone through the pain of breaking her in, believe me 1000 miles at less than 6000rpm/50mph when you know she can do a hell of a lot more is agonising, you can crank it up to 12k and she screams, a beautiful sound and stunning pace. No she wont do 160mph but lets be honest who the hell does? Oh yeh the wanna be posers who tell a good story about how they where nearly caught doing 150mph down the M1 weaving in and out of traffic dont get me wrong if thats how you want to get of thats fine by me but, i am sure these are the same guys i pass every day in my car doing 90mph leaving them behind because truth be told most sensible riders like car drivers ride to thier own abilities and thats where this wonderful piece of machinery really lives.

Strengths

Easily maintained, joy to ride faster than a 911!!

Weaknesses

Nothing

Overall Review

All-around, great as a commuter or for day-trips. It is affordable and reliable, does everything you need. Only real negative is it's just a bit on the boring side.

Strengths

Pro: - affordable, cheap to insure - nice looking machine - decent power, nice handling - reliable

Weaknesses

Cons: - only 45 MPG, city or freeway. At first I thought it was just my bike, but this is typical mileage for this bike. - a bit on the heavy side for a 250 - just a bit bland...

Overall Review

If you can buy an ER6F by one of those instead. Its a much better bike and more fun too but if you are small or limited by license to 33BHP its okay. Running costs are low, tyre wear is very low, mpg is good (74mpg ish) and on a good unrestricted road its quite fun. But if you have a lot of roundabouts and have to accelerate up to 70 it is quite slow and you will be struggling to keep with the faster cars...

Strengths

For those on a 33BHP license it is as fast as you can get and is geared correctly for its power and torque. Has excellent brakes with huge amounts of power and handles very well on its fairly narrow tyres. Economy is good but no better than a F800S when ridden the same (in fact the F800S might be slightly better). Distance to the ground is very low (even lower than my ER6) so for vertically challenged nervous riders it is very good.

Weaknesses

New price has gone up again. Although launched at £2999 it rapidly went up to £3500 and then over £4000. Needs new tyres. The stock ones are very slippery when wet. Insurance doesn't work out very cheap - mine cost me three times as much as my ER6. The engine is very bland with no power band as such and no low end. It has to be thrashed all the time in order to go forwards faster than traffic. Fairing dumps all the rain in your crotch but does keep some of the cold off your upper body. Battery access requires multiple bolts to be removed. Engine is so quiet pedestrians don't hear you.

Overall Review

I love this bike, I was just going to keep it for the two years until my license was no longer restricted but its so much fun and such a pleasure to ride I'll be keeping it for a while yet! granted I only have ever been on a Peugeot speedfight50 and a Honda cbr125 so don't have much to compare it to, I still feel this is a brilliant bike. A friend of mine actually sold there ninja 250 for a Suzuki sv650 and a couple of months later got rid of the sv for another ninja!

Strengths

Perfect for people without too much experience, very forgiving and wont throw you around but has a surprising amount of power for when you get more confident. comfortable to ride not too 'bulky' which is good for smaller people

Weaknesses

Even though I keep mine garaged, within 300 miles all nuts and bolts and clips and even around the breaks and chain had rusted!!

Overall Review

An excellent day out/ touring / sporty but not insane motorcycle. Capable of great distances if needed at a cheap fuel cost.

Strengths

Lovely sweet engine. Ridden reasonably the fuel economy is outstanding considering the more than adequate power available should you want it. Ridden hard the economy remains excellent. Nice build quality. Light enough to not be a 'handfull' manouvering. Agile handling.

Weaknesses

Passengers seating position may be fashionable but not that comfortable. Stance forward riding position fine at 90kph plus but wrist aching at slow speeds. A little jerky on the on/off throttle at traffic crawl speeds. Handle bar mirrors barely adequate in size/rear view.
