Overall Review

Great New Bike , Engine is great , good town bike with the bigger mid range reasonable commuter and still enough fun at the weekend

Strengths

Honda Build Quality Great Finish Classy looking Exhaust Downpipes reminiscent of my old 400/4 Fat back tyre Nice looking wheel design Engine appears to have more midrange but still revs and dashes off when the mood takes you nice and neutral at slow speed in town Nice finish to the exhaust end can Yam could learn something here , neat touches like the integrated tank protector to protect the flat matt black tank from zip scratches and comes with a hugger as standard. No fancy electrics on the clocks but simple to use and the fuel gauge is useful together with average consumption readout.

Weaknesses

You do feel perched on top a little the seat while roomy is hard after about an hour the rear shock crashes on its standard settings needs slackening off if solo the brakes lack some initial bite and require more than two finger squeezing (not noticed the ABS) wind deflection is none , looking for a screen Honda add on's are a silly price £300 for heated grips get real Oxford for me thank you Some fit and finish Not so Good , Tiny side panels held on by Velcro its already come off after a week Vibration through the Bars is worse than my previous Honda 600 going to look for heavier weights

Overall Review

Very well developed all rounder.

Strengths

Great riding position, very comfortable Smooth engine, easy around town, plenty of zip for an all rounder when revved Good Handling and fine brakes Transformed by fitting a decent screen ( I fitted the Puig, works great) Looks good

Weaknesses

Shame it doesn't have a centre stand Heated Grips are a ridiculous price Lack of self cancelling indicators Horn in an awkward position Like all naked's - wind blast unless you fit a screen

Overall Review

The new CB650F from Honda is a fantastic bike that meets all the criteria I had been searching for but couldn't articulate. I was tired of chasing speed, having progressed through an R6 and R1 and met the realisation that any more of that behaviour on British roads could only lead to disaster. A lesser-powered but equally fun ride was what I needed. The CB650F is that ride. It has enough go to satisfy your sunday morning speed itch but doesn't demand the same level of attention and commitment during day to day use. The engine is versatile, the suspension good enough to handle anything I can throw at it, and probably what 90% of riders actually will ask of it. If you're looking for more than just speed from your motorcycle experience, if you want a fun machine with just the right amount of power that doesn't cost the earth to buy and insure then you must consider the Honda CB650F.

Strengths

Great looking, decent handling, with enough up top to draw a grin on a sunday blast and enough low down torque to make commutes a pleasure. Easy to ride, easy to maintain and cheap to run, insure and buy.

Weaknesses

Some slight corrosion to metal work after only 9 weeks of March/April ownership which doesn't bode well for the winter. A couple of bits of trim were loose on delivery and needed the velcro sticking back on.
