Overall Review

The new Vstrom is a lovely bike to ride around the town or to take away from a jaunt around Europe. Its very comfortable even for a taller rider (Im 6'4) . the bike is well balanced , the gearbox is smooth and the engine reacts with gusty when required but is forgiving too. A great all round machine, ideal for a new rider or a seasoned vet.

Strengths

Very comfortable long distance tourer or for around town . punchy engine at any speed and in any gear.

Weaknesses

Havent found any yet.

Overall Review

Terrific value for money, I loved my 2008 model, bought a 1250 Bandit but missed the "all roads" type riding so bought the 2012 V Strom, I could not be more please with the bike.

Strengths

Excelent fuel economy 24km per litre at 110kph to 120kph. Better handling than the previous model, more torque and HP and better instrument panel. Also a better looking bike than the previous model.

Weaknesses

Nothing whatsoever

Overall Review

Brilliant

Strengths

Very Comfy, Great mpg, Nice breaks, Light and Very good price. Tested the Triumph Tiger which was also nice, but the Suzuki feels just as powerful and comfy but 1000.00 cheaper.

Weaknesses

Not much. Maybe just slightly notchy gear box.

Overall Review

A 'Ronseal' bike with attitude, considerably more than the sum of its parts, as competent as anything on the road if not as exciting as some, confidence inspiring and capable of taking you anywhere in any weather with confidence, capable of providing fun if you want to push things a bit, all things to all modest men. Frsankly I think its great - its my 14th bike and probably the best overall

Strengths

Comfortable, quite nicely finished, love the engine, totally reliable, weather protection, bad weather stability, much better looking than the old V Strom(which I also owned), good value, nice handling, good economy and range, causes quite a lot of interest

Weaknesses

Numb throttle hand after 2 motorway hours, a little tall for shorties like me, could sound better

Overall Review

The V Strom DL 650 was given a major overhaul in late 2011. It lost a bit of width and weight. It also lost 2 litres of petrol down to a 20 litre tank. Yes as it does over 70 mpg this is not a problem. It will also spin up into a lively tourer, although I seldom use its full power capacity. It is no sports bike, but it is one of the best all round and good value bikes on the market today. Suzuki are onto a winner here and I for one am very pleased with my 2013 model. I cannot fault the bike - for the money - this is a superb motorcycle and is truly the thinking man's motorcycle. Good for a trip to the supermarket or a ride down to Morocco and beyond, it is truly the most versatile of machines.

Strengths

Reliable, better looking than the old model, good mpg, do anything bike

Weaknesses

Too generic

Overall Review

The VStrom is not the most charismatic of bikes, but it is the best all-rounder I have ever owned. Utterly dependable, fun to ride, economical, nimble..it does the lot.

Strengths

Strong, smooth V twin engine, comfortable riding position, decent wind protection, 60mpg-plus economy, meaning a 200-miles-plus tank range. I teated the V-strom head to head with the Triumph Tiger 800 and the only area in which the Triumph had an edge was the engine. The V-strom looks a s good, has a much greater range and is ergonomically superior.

Weaknesses

The accessory bars cause a vibration at around 4,700rpm. It is a known and common fault which Suzuki have been very slow to acknowledge. Stock windscreen is not fantastic, but the Palmer Products adapter bracket has worked for me.

Overall Review

Had mine for 2 and a half years and put on 20,000 miles. Did a two week trip to the South of France with my wife on the back and full Givi hard luggage. Averaged 68 mpg apart from on motorways when it dropped to 59. Total comfort for both of us. Its not put a foot wrong.

Strengths

Comfortable enough for 8 hour days 65+mpg means I only start to think about filling up at 250 miles. Bags of room for pillion. Good for blasting around A roads or popping to the shops or touring. Not loads around - it doesn't turn you into a member of a herd.

Weaknesses

People don't know what it is - but that's fine by me.

Overall Review

This bike has caused me a great deal of annoyance and irritation as a high mileage "mature" rider (40+ years and 50+new bikes of all types) why oh why did I not cotton on to this bike before now as I would have had more fun and saved a blooby fortune to boot.

Strengths

Comfortable, oh so comfortable. Perfectly fueld charecter laden V twin with linear power delivery and real world 60 mpg economy with an en iable reputation for reliability. Perfectly adequet brakes supported by a non intrusive Abs system. Safe predictble handling with enough in reserve for road use for those who have yet to be certified. Decent wind protection enaabling you to cruise at a speed that is unlikely to make you a canidate to become big Berties bitch on "B" wing.

Weaknesses

Can I come back to you on that one.

Overall Review

I love this bike! For the price, especially if you buy a used one, you can't go wrong. I bought my 2012 with 6000 miles on it and 18 mos later I have 16k on it. If it wasn't for the rainy winters here, that number would be increasing regularly; instead I'll wait til Spring. I've used it as a commuter and for long, multi-day trips, both on and off-road and it's been fantastic.

Strengths

Comfortable, awesome MPG, better off-road than you'd think it could be, handles very well, ABS gives peace of mind.

Weaknesses

Engine vibes from 4700-5000 are annoying. It's not just the crash bars; even with them not installed you can still feel the vibration and it's annoying. Just the nature of this motor I guess. Would like a little more power. Stock seat is crap (I have a Corbin). Stock windscreen is crap (I have a Givi Airflow), but that's to be expected at this price point.

Overall Review

All in all this is a hell of a bike for the money.

Strengths

I bought a new DL650 WeeStrom a couple of months ago and am absolutely delighted with it. Previously I had owned a KLE500 and the improvement in terms of standard equipment and finish is impressive. The riding position is good with a very comfortable seat which not only allows you to see all that is going on, but also removes the numb bum pit stops suffered on previous machinery! The engine is smooth and responsive – I always feel in control. The setup is firm and steady even in stormy conditions. Switchgear is easy to use and the dash is clear and easy to read. When I bought the bike I included a Suzuki belly pan and hand guards which I would thoroughly recommend.

Weaknesses

I haven't come across any yet!
