Overall Review

I tried the KTM 1190 Adventure, BMW 1200 GS1200, Triumph Explorer 1200, Triumph 1050 and the Yamaha 1200 Super Ten. While the KTM was definitely more powerful, it was a lot more money. Overall I liked the feel and features of the Aprilia the best. After just over a year of ownership and 6000 miles I am still of the same opinion and as some would say `its a keeper'.

Strengths

The Travel Pack version is sold at a good price for a bike with the standard spec. Good performance. Reliable (to date). Economy not bad for this type of bike (averaging 40 MPG over 4000 miles). Comfort is good for passenger as well as rider. Other riders dont keep calling me Charlie or Ewan.

Weaknesses

Suspension can be a bit harsh at times. Panniers could do with being a bit bigger Could do with a top box as standard Could do with a bigger fuel tank Cruise control needs more controls.

Overall Review

Aprilia's Caponord is captivating with the AAS Aprilia Active suspension which is superb, almost the same, as what is on its more expensive rivals BMW and Ducati. Best brakes on offer on most bikes at present Brembo. Super comfort its a ride all day machine whether on your one or 2up. Whether with luggage on or not. This Bike is dam light and easy moved, not like a GS. Its a rascal when stripped of luggage on the twisties and that exhaust is dam noisy too. Big grin factor guaranteed. Engine has 125 bhp plenty for all that your going to use it for. Easy 135mph if you require it. Easy power delivery bike has full traction control but I switched it off. This bike is easy to ride fast. Also left AAS in full auto setting. Big V twin engine has sufficient power and engine braking to inspire confidence in us all in the twisties. Build and reliability to date after 8k miles has been superb. My Rally to date has been super cheap to run. With its 1st service at 600 miles next service 6k miles on at 6600k miles. Rear tyre lasted to 5k front got to 7k. 40 to 50 MPG amazing. No oil usage or any issues so far. Aprilia have fully loaded it with 3 boxes slick looking Givi styled boxes all come with liners. Heated grips are optional, Cruise control is standard, Rally has spoked larger wheels. AAS ATC which are all usable and easily switched off if preferred. 3 power modes add to this package. OE tyres Metz Next are superb, they are also standard on the BMW GS 1200. JUST BUY ONE. NO WORRIES.

Strengths

Looks, Ease of use, Power delivery, Gear box, Suspension, Comfort, Style, and The PRICE, now £9999.O.T.R. Awesome....

Weaknesses

None, its a no brainer in comparison to BMW KTM and Ducatis crazy prices... 12K UP TO 18K... NO CHANCE...
