YouTuber turns Ducati Panigale V4 into sand blasting snowmobile
Custom Ducatis are nothing new, although we’ve never seen a custom Ducati that features a snowmobile rear end - until now!
You may have seen some posts on Visordown earlier this year showing a YouTuber slowly turning a crash-damaged Ducati Panigale V4 into a dirt bike. Well, he’s at it again, but this time he’s taking to the dunes, thanks to a snowmobile conversion.
The person behind the bike is the American YouTuber, Matt Spears. Matt bought the Panigale V4 as a crash-damaged project some time ago, and began to fulfil his (warped) dream of owning a 200bhp V4 dirt bike. And credit to him, as he did it. He’s obviously a fairly talented snapper monkey, and with the financial backing of his YouTube channel, seems to be able to turn most wild ideas into actual, credible results.
So once the trails had been conquered, Spears set his sights on the desert. But instead of settling for paddle tyres, as is the tried and tested route for a dune bike - see the Buell Baja Dune Racer - Spears decided to do something a little more extreme. Mating the business end of a snowmobile to the Panigale doesn’t do it any favours on the aesthetic front, but it does at least seem to make it able to handle the dunes fairly easily - even if the turning circle is woefully large. He even manages some flat-out third-gear runs up some huge dunes.
Next up, Spears wants to take the machine to a lake, to see if it can walk on water as well as it can dance in the sand. We’ll keep you posted about how he gets on.
