A video has surfaced on social media showing Josh Brookes making full use of the Isle of Man TT course, having what has been described as a ‘terrifying’ moment.

The video was shot from the Kirk Michael section, around 15 miles into the 37.7-mile lap. Chasing down Davey Todd on the road, British Superbike and Isle of Man TT star Brookes seemingly makes a small mistake, misses his apex and runs wide on the exit of the 140mph corner. Moving off the racing line slightly, Brookes has no other option but to mount the kerb on the outside of the corner, feathering the throttle slightly as the bike bucks and weaves on and off the kerb.

Amazingly, the Australian star seems relatively unfazed by what could have been a very big crash, and despite seeming to be off the racing line for the next, fast righthander, he gets right back up to speed once again.

Brookes has had a strong TT so far, ending Qualifying 4 in fourth place and Qualifying 5 in third on his FHO Racing BMW M 1000 RR. Sadly the bright performances in qualifying were not repeated in the races, as a snapped chain put him out on lap one. Speaking about that incident on social media, he said “Superbike race [1] didn’t go to plan today, I retired on the first lap with a broken chain. Gutted as I missed more laps but the main thing is I’m ok. My superbikes feeling good around the TT course so we’ll just put today behind us and look forward to the next race on Tuesday.”

Racing on Tuesday was cancelled due to overnight rain that never fully dried throughout the day. Both of Tuesday’s races - Supertwin Race 1 and Superstock Race 1 - were rescheduled for Wednesday, while the Supersport and Sidecar races that were originally scheduled for Wednesday were moved to Thursday.
