New canvas jacket from Weise is AAA-rated
UK-based Weise has just revealed its latest jacket, which hides high levels of safety in a relaxed-looking style.
A new jacket from UK-based Weise is offering off-the-bike cool while still delivering the highest category of protection for motorcycle clothing.
The new Chester jacket is made of cotton canvas and Cordura. Thanks to that latter fabric, it meets EN17092-2:2020 AAA certification. Impact protection comes via RE ZRO armour at the shoulders, elbows, and back (remember the bad old days when you had to buy back protectors separately?).
Developed in the UK, the armour claims to be lighter than other brands, and boasts biodegradability.
Belying its sunny-day-only looks, the jacket comes with a waterproof and windproof drop liner. A media release promoting the Chester jacket says the drop liner is “sandwiched between the outer shell and textile mesh inner lining,” which suggests to us that it may not be removable.
Hems and cuffs are adjustable, via both zipper and popper. On the outside of the jacket you get two pockets on the chest and two hand warmer pockets. All four have zipper closures, but the zipper does not appear to be waterproof.
So, you’ll likely want to carry your phone and secret government documents in one of the three internal pockets.
Available in sizes S to XXXXXL (that’s a big fella wearing that jacket), the Chester has a suggested retail price of £279.99. It’s available in Black, Sand and Sage colours.
