Biker who filmed himself riding at 189mph on Kawasaki Ninja H2 jailed
GoPros recorded Amin Belechguer as he fled from the police. He later scampered through hedge rows after officers disabled his bike.

A motorcyclist has been jailed after footage recorded on his own GoPro camera was used as evidence against him in court, showing him riding at excessive speeds and repeatedly ignoring basic road safety rules.
Amin Belechguer, 29, of Poynders Gardens, Clapham, South London, fled from police in 2025. However, although he initially escaped capture, officers seized his supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2, along with his GoPro camera and mobile phone, providing evidence that would later be used against him.
The recovered footage showed Belechguer travelling at more than twice the speed limit on motorways and through town centres, performing wheelies and what Kent Police described as ‘dangerous manoeuvres’.
He was also filmed running red lights, racing other vehicles at car meets, and riding along pavements and across pedestrian crossings.

According to Kent Police, the incident that led to his arrest began when a patrol car, already responding to another call-out with its blue lights and sirens activated, was travelling along the A20 Ashford Road towards Maidstone.
Belechguer pulled out in front of the police car before turning towards the officers and waving, apparently attempting to provoke them into a pursuit.
Officers pursued the rider for a short time, during which he reportedly reached speeds of more than 130mph. He also crossed solid white centre lines and rode towards oncoming traffic over the blind brow of a hill.
The officers eventually dropped back to reduce the risk of a collision, while colleagues further along the road deployed a stinger device in an attempt to puncture the Ninja H2's tyres.
With the tyres deflated, Belechguer abandoned the motorcycle and ran into nearby hedgerows in an attempt to evade capture. Although he initially escaped, the motorcycle and the recording equipment left at the scene provided investigators with evidence of his riding.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to the offences and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.
In addition to his custodial sentence, the Kawasaki Ninja H2 was made subject to a forfeiture order and will be permanently confiscated. Belechguer will also face a 10-year driving ban upon his release from custody.
Speaking about the case, investigating officer PC Daniel Goodman said:
“Officers worked swiftly when presented with the opportunity to arrest a dangerous motorist. Despite having to terminate a pursuit due to the dangerousness of Belechguer’s driving, teamwork saw his vehicle brought to a stop and secured his arrest.
“Not only did Belechguer drive at triple the speed limit in some instances, but he demonstrated little regard for basic road safety when he failed to adhere to road markings, signage and traffic lights.
“Throughout the investigation, Belechguer showed no remorse for the fact he placed his life and the lives of other road users at risk on numerous occasions. This prison sentence, the confiscation of his bike and a long driving ban will keep other motorists safe for some time to come.”
