Triumph’s TF 250-X scores historic one-two at MXGP of France
Guillem Farres claimed his first MX2 overall victory in France, leading teammate Camden McLellan home to give Triumph its first-ever one-two finish in Grand Prix motocross.

Triumph has secured its first-ever one-two finish in the MX2 World Championship, with Guillem Farres and Camden McLellan locking out the top two spots at the MXGP of France aboard the TF 250-X.
Farres took the overall win with a clean 1-1 scorecard across the weekend, while McLellan backed him up in second overall to give Triumph Factory Racing its strongest result since joining the MX2 class in 2024.
The result marks another step forward for Triumph’s motocross project, which only entered the FIM MX2 World Championship last season. And while the TF 250-X has already taken podiums and race wins, France is the first time the British manufacturer has finished first and second overall at a Grand Prix.

Farres looked comfortable from the off in France, aside from a small crash in qualifying. In race one, the Spaniard started third before moving into the lead within the opening laps. Once out front, he controlled the moto to the flag.
Race two proved tighter. Farres again started third, this time behind teammate McLellan, who had made a much stronger launch. Farres moved past the South African on lap two before closing in on the race leader. With three laps to go he made the decisive pass for the lead, although McLellan stayed close enough to challenge through the closing stages.

McLellan’s second-place finish in the moto was enough to seal second overall for the weekend and complete the one-two result for Triumph.
The French GP continues what has been a steady upward trend for the British brand since it entered MX2. Triumph scored a podium on its championship debut in Patagonia with Mikkel Haarup in 2024, while McLellan added another podium later that same season in Sardinia.
This year, with Haarup moving to the US after ageing out of the MX2 class, Farres joined McLellan in the factory squad. Since then, both riders have taken race wins, with McLellan giving Triumph its first overall GP victory earlier this season in Spain.

Farres’ win in France is also his first overall Grand Prix victory in MX2.
Six rounds into the 2025 campaign, Triumph has now collected seven podium finishes and two overall victories, while the TF 250-X has featured on the podium at every round except one.
The MX2 World Championship continues this weekend with the MXGP of Germany at Teutschenthal on May 30-31.
