Triumph will support the first-ever Lady Mayor Ride Out this summer, with more than 100 motorcycles set to ride through the streets of London.

The event will support The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which aims to raise more than £4 million for charity over the next three years.

The Ride Out is a long-standing tradition in which many Lord Mayors have set off from the Mansion House on horseback. However, The Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley has opted to use motorcycles for the first time in a bid to modernise the event.

Dame Susan Langley is the 697th Lord Mayor of the city of London, but she’s just the third female to hold the position, and the first to be called Lady Mayor.

The Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley, said this about the upcoming event:

“The Lady Mayor's Ride Out is set to be a brilliant spectacle. Many Lord Mayors have done a ride out from the Mansion House before but on horses. As I don't ride horses and my mayoral year is focusing on unsquaring the Square Mile - I decided we'd do it on motorbikes! Thank you to Triumph Motorcycles for partnering with us to make this action-packed event a success.”

The Ride Out begins outside St Paul’s Cathedral, before heading out to a location in Essex where riders will be able to stop for food and drinks.

Devron Boulton, General Manager at Triumph UK & Ireland, added:

“Triumph is delighted to partner with the Lady Mayor for the inaugural Ride Out and to support her vision for a bold, modern take on a long-standing City tradition. This event captures the spirit of innovation, inclusivity and community that defines both London and the motorcycling world. We’re proud to stand alongside The Lord Mayor’s Appeal in helping make a positive impact across the capital.”

For those looking to take part, an entry fee of £50 per bike will need to be paid, while pillions can attend for £10. The event takes place on 11 June and starts at 11:00am. Riders, pillions, and non-bikers can all sign up through the official Lord Mayor Appeal website.
