New SYM Cruisym 400 maxi-scooter unveiled
A new maxi-scooter from SYM could be about to rival the likes of Aprilia and Voge.

Taiwanese company SYM is set to bring a new Cruisym 400 maxi-scooter to the market in 2026, which could be set to rival more established brands in Europe, such as Aprilia, and its new SR GT 400.
Aprilia revealed its new performance-based scooter at the 2025 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, which was the same venue SYM chose as the launchpad for its new model.
The new Cruisym 400 offers smartphone connectivity that allows turn-by-turn navigation, while an integrated dash cam completes the tech package. This is all fed through a seven-inch TFT LCD display, which also gives riders access to settings such as tyre pressures and air temperature.

The Cruisym 400 is an evolution of the 300 model that is sold in the UK, and it makes use of a 399cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 34bhp and 27Ib-ft of torque.
Its power and torque figures are eerily similar to those of the Aprilia SR GT 400, which produces a claimed 36bhp at 7,500rpm and 28Ib-ft of torque at 5,700rpm.
Another model that could be seen as a competitor to the SYM Cruisym 400 is Voge’s new SR450X, which is the most powerful big-bodied scooter out of the three. It is powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected twin-cylinder engine that produces 42bhp at 8,000rpm and 32Ib-ft of torque at 5,750rpm.
Lighting at the front of the Cruisym 400 is handled by a full LED system, while a three-position backrest gives riders the option of adjusting the seating setup to their needs on longer trips.

Pricing and availability has not yet been confirmed by SYM, but with the Cruisym 300 priced at £4,299, expect that number to rise closer to £5,000.
