Is this the end of the road for the GSX-R125 and GSX-S125?
It’s a case of when one door opens, another door closes, as the GSX-R125 and GSX-S125 are getting discontinued.

It was a little over a month ago that the motorcycle world was reverberating with the news that Suzuki’s legendary GSX-R1000R was making a return to the UK and European range.
Just over a month after that news, we learn today that Suzuki could be about to drop its learner-friendly GSX-R and GSX-S125. The news comes from the Suzuki Japan website, which is now listing both models as ‘Discontinued’. The move effectively means there are no geared 125cc offerings on the Japanese website, with only twist-and-go options, in the form of the Burgman 125EX, Avensis 125, and Address 125 remaining.

Furthermore, a Suzuki-centric fan website, SuzukiBike.JP, reached out to Suzuki Japan for comment. It was confirmed that the GSX-R and GSX-S125 are to be discontinued, and more surprisingly, the Japanese bike maker will build no more models, and no more orders for the models can be made. The outlet is citing Euro5+ regulations as the reason for the model's decline.
That effectively means, if you are a current GSX-R or GSX-S125 owner and you want to refresh your ride, or you are a rider who wants to add either of the quirky-looking bikes to your garage, you'd better get trawling UK dealer stock, as no more will be entering the country.

Now, it’s important to remember that this is news hot off the press from Japan, and while the website we are quoting has contacted Suzuki Japan, we have yet to hear back from Suzuki UK on the matter. Yes, the GSX-R and GSX-S may be getting discontinued, but for all we know, Suzuki UK could have been bolstering its stock levels in preparation for two models’ departure.
We’ll keep you updated on what they say once they have been in touch.
