Royal Enfield’s Scram 440 sales are back underway in India following hiatus
Royal Enfield’s new Scram 440, launched in January but only in India as the successor to the 411 model, has resumed sales following a brief pause.

A bike that piqued our interest when it was launched in the first half of 2025 in India, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 is back in the news as sales have resumed following a temporary pause.
Unveiled as the successor to the Scram 411, which was previously introduced to the UK market in 2022, the Scram 440 received a slightly bigger engine and more performance, although customers have had to wait longer than expected given the pause in sales.
The reason for the pause is reportedly due to ‘mechanical issues.’ It has been in place over the last two months. But with those issues out of the way, sales have resumed on the new Scram 440.
Sales were halted because of a mechanical issue concerning the Woodruff Key present in Magneto cover as part of the bike's ignition system. Only 2 percent of the Scram 440 motorcycles were affected by this issue, according to Royal Enfield.
Royal Enfield sent replacement parts to dealerships as part of the fixing repairs, and the identified issue was reportedly free of cost.
The issue was not deemed as widespread, however, reports suggest it occurred as part of isolated incidents where the bike didn’t start after running for some time.
There were no stalling issues with defective motorcycles when the engine was running, but there were issues when restarting after turning it off for some time.
