Rough Crafts BMW R12 nineT built to match vintage Porsche 911
Rough Crafts has used a vintage Porsche 911 as the inspiration for its sweet-looking BMW R12 nineT custom build.

Following the recent reveal of a new Royal Enfield x Rough Crafts Shotgun 650 limited edition model, the famous custom bike outfit is at it again, but this time with a BMW R12 nineT that’s inspired by a vintage Porsche 911.
Winston Yeh is the well-known man behind Rough Crafts, and alongside his team, he collaborated with Kenji Wong to produce this sweet-looking R12 nineT custom.
The build was centred around the above-mentioned Porsche 911, which is where its striking gold and maroon colour combo comes from.
But when you delve deeper into the build, you can see that it is not just about looks either, even if that’s the first thing that draws your eye to this bike.

For starters, it's wearing Brembo brakes, which is obviously a good place to start when building a high-spec custom motorcycle. Keeping with that theme, the suspension was upgraded to feature Ohlins systems at both ends of the bike, while a pair of Koso x Rough Crafts LEDs power the taillights and turn signals.
If you look closely, you can also see that the rear wheel uses a very similar design pattern to that of the Fuchs items found on the Porsche 911, with the major difference being the inclusion of Rough Crafts’ badge, rather than Porsche’s own.
Its silhouette is also a clear nod to the 911's unique roofline, while a twin exhaust under the seat finishes off the build nicely.

Detailing its plans behind this build, a social media post from Rough Crafts said:
“We wanted to build a bike that captures that Porsche spirit. To make that happen, they searched for a bike with a similar flat-twin engine setup for the perfect foundation. After brainstorming Winston’s innovative remote customization concept, they teamed up with BMW Motorrad in Sagamihara, Japan, to create a brand-new BMW R12 NineT as the canvas for this unique project”.
